Review: Sweet Mint Activated Charcoal Tooth Polish | Carbon Coco

Hey guys,

Over the last month I have been reviewing Carbon Coco’s new “Sweet Mint Activated Charcoal Tooth Polish”. After loving their original flavour that I reviewed in spring, they reached out to me again to test their new ‘Sweet Mint” flavour. If you haven’t read that post and don’t know anything about Carbon Coco, they have launched a selection of vegan, natural teeth whitening tools to help lift the shade of your teeth without damaging anything, unlike a lot of artificial whiteners. This “Sweet Mint” flavour is only available for a limited amount of time so I suggest grabbing it whilst you can. It sells worldwide at quite a reasonable price. Carbon Coco sent it to me along with their “Activated Charcoal Toothpaste” and their toothbrush that is made with bamboo.

In my first review for them, I didn’t mind the charcoal not having a flavour, but now after trying this one, I think it’s my favourite! It tasted really good and considering that you’re scrubbing your teeth with the charcoal for about 3 minutes, it’s nice having a flavour to it. This teeth whitener works by absorbing debris and bacteria that stains your teeth. I found that it works really well on the corners of your teeth, where typically in a rush, you might forget to clean properly.
This is my teeth before beginning the “Sweet Mint . I finished using their original flavour in April, so hadn’t been using any whiteners since. As I have mentioned before, I don’t have very stained teeth because I don’t drink things that stain teeth often. I do however, find that I get staining in between my teeth.
If you guys haven’t read my last review, I did warn you that this is a fairly messy product! My tip for this product is to spit as close to the sink as possible. If you do this, it’s easy to wash away. Don’t worry about the charcoal leaving your teeth or lips black, once you have used toothpaste afterwards, it washes off very easily. I haven’t had any problems with staining from it.
As you guys can probably tell, my teeth are looking pretty white. To get the best results, you definitely need to make sure you are brushing your teeth for nearly 3 minutes. The good thing with testing out products is that you generally stick to the suggestions quite strictly, so I think a big part to why the product worked so well on me is because I made sure I brushed my teeth with the product for long enough. As I mentioned in my last post, I want to make sure that you guys understand that a natural tooth polish, won’t achieve an artificial colour. Products like this are so much better for you because they don’t damage your enamel but because it doesn’t use harsh chemicals, it means that it won’t bleach your teeth, it just lifts natural stains. I really recommend this product if you want a natural method because it honestly did make my teeth feel a lot cleaner and it lifted stains, but don’t expect an artificial white.

I definitely would use more products by Carbon Coco in future, seeing as I have loved both of these that I have reviewed. One of the perks to this brand is that they actually give you a lot of product, so even after using this everyday for a month, I’m still only half way through or even less maybe.

Have any of you guys been using teeth whitening products or used Carbon Coco’s?

  1. I really like the idea of charcoal toothpaste to whiten teeth as is not chemical and aggressive and my teeth can't handle that.
